Yet Another Day In Pillowtown

Yet Another Day In Pillowtown

Unless you’re living under a rock — if you are, don’t come out yet — you’ve seen the latest viral hashtag on social media, #PillowChallenge.

When one hears Pillow Challenge, two things come to mind:

  1. A challenge where you make pillows (given the current levels of boredom, this is not a surprising ‘challenge’.) or
  2. A challenge where you use pillows to smother someone to death. (Again, boredom = very unusual challenges trending on social media.)

Thankfully, this one is a bit more creative. It looks like the quarantine has brought out the creative best on social media.

The #PillowChallenge was started by @stylebynelli & @myforteisfashion on Instagram and has since been spearheaded by celebrities and influencers. The challenge requires you to reinvent your wardrobe using nothing but pillows. Yes, that means going commando (or not) while being sandwiched by two pillows.

Here’s Anne Hathaway recreating her famous Princess Amelia Mignonette Grimaldi Thermopolis Renaldo look from the 2001 coming-of-age teen comedy film ‘The Princess Diaries’. In true Queenly fashion, she arrived late, but she arrived in style.

Bonus points for creativity

Where there’s a will, there’s hath-a-way.

But for now, it looks like the internet has crowned Halle Berry as the unofficial winner of the #PillowChallenge.
